DuO Houston Host Its Spring 2012 Fashion Show

The uber trendy boutique, DuO, located in the Montrose area of Houston, TX, hosted its spring 2012 fashion show this past weekend.  This event was everything I needed for a potentially uneventful saturday night.  I was blessed with the opportunity to shop, sip on complimentary drinks, nibble on tasty bites provided by My Fit Foods, and view some of the latest trends for the upcoming season.  And to think that I almost passed it up for a night of watching old episodes of The Hills on Netflix.

I chose to keep my outfit sleek and simple for the extravagance I was going to experience.  I paired a light gray linen t-shirt from Zara with a pair of form fitting black cigarette pants from Express, a pair of lace open toed booties from Aldo, and a studded black purse from Agaci.

Can you tell that I am totally swooning in this picture.  My favorite model of the night, Randall, gave the runway so much life.

The Weekender | Yes Ma’am I Am

This week was so hard for me because I developed a nasty cold that kept me from my day job, and from blogging like I really wanted to.  The only thing that kept me going was a ton of throat lozenges, the love and care of my sweetie, and an über fab song from this new sultry-sounding Atlanta based girl group called The Yes Ma’ams.  Their song “Only If I Say So” kept me feeling ferociously feminine on the inside even though my outside was…well…you get the point.

This weekend I am going to really focus on pampering myself back into the swing of things. I’m thinking a manicure and pedicure at my favorite nail salon, and maybe a mini shopping spree.

The Weekender | A Month Of Celebration

March is my birth month and was filled with plenty of celebration, smiles, laughs and good food. I had so many reasons to celebrate this month, and look forward to future excitements.  This weekend I plan to attend my first blogging networking event and while I’m nervous as all get out, I fully embrace all of the possibilities.

I will probably take it easy the rest if the weekend, relax outside, sip on tea, and give myself a facial.  Before I run off to face this wonderful weekend, lets take a look at this past week on That IT Girl:
