Spring Cleaning + Drugstore Finds

Out with the old…

For me…Spring is all about renewal and growth.  The trees are blooming, and my visual world has become greener and full of life.   This weekend was absolutely gorgeous!  Saturday, I woke up to bright sunlight peeping through my blinds and the sound of birds melodically chirping.   I could not help but use this warm weather and the soundtrack of nature to motivate me to kickstart my spring cleaning.

With each season, I make it a goal to purge and donate unwanted or unneeded items to make room for the new.  After a breakfast of eggs and oatmeal, and my morning tea, I piped my favorite upbeat tunes through my home stereo system, and got to cleaning.  I was able to remove at least 10 shirts, 3 pair of pants, 2 pair of shoes, and countless pieces of jewelry from my closet to my nearest Goodwill Donation Center.  Once I finished, I instantly felt lighter and ready to face spring with a new attitude.

In with the new…

By the time I completed this task, I think the caffeine from my tea was in full effect and to reward myself for a cleaning job well done, I made a trip to the drug store to find some goodies.  I’ve heard so many great things about the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24- hour wear eyeshadow that I couldn’t resist grabbing a few colors.  I also stumbled upon some gorgeous glitter nail colors from Milani, and a new bronzer from Wet n Wild that I hope will replace my beloved but now ruined Goddess bronzer by the same company.

A Blurb About Passion

What does the word “passion” mean to you?  No, I am not talking about the type of passion that makes you want to get hot and steamy with your significant other.  I am talking about the passion that motivates you to live your life outside of the box.  The passion that makes you want to prove the naysayers wrong.  The passion that wakes you up every morning with the drive to live out your wildest dreams.

For me, life is about fufillment and attempting to be the best me as much as possible.  Now, I have my off days but for the most part, I try hard to live by the things I’m passionate about.

3 Simple Ways I Infuse My Life With Passion

1.  Laugh Daily… I love to laugh.  Even if it is at myself.  I can be serious when necessary, but I try not to take myself so seriously that I cannot find comedy in everyday life.  Laughing often not only releases endorphins that can help stimulate a good mood, but it can releive stress, and keep you looking youthful and radient.

2.  Take Risk… Trying new things, and creating new experiences is always risky for the threat of failure or embarrassment is very real.  Pushing past that fear is the key to living a more passionate life.  It is very hard to figure out what to be passionate about when you continue to live inside of a box.

3.  Create a Support Team… I strive to surround myself with people who I not only love, but who reciprocate this same love, and choose to support me.  Too many times we hang on to people who really do not have out best interest at heart, or are determined to see us fail out of loyalty or fear of being alone.  I like to keep myself light by dropping that dead weight and refusing to keep company with toxic people.

What do you do to lead a more passionate life?  Leave a comment and lets discuss.
