Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel Review

Company Overview

Mario Badescu Skin Care,  named after  Romanian-born chemist, cosmetologist, and innovator, Mario Badescu, specializes in spa quality, botanically-based skin care.  This skin care line started started in 1967, in a New York City spa and has remained one of most effective and affordable skin care lines to date.

Mario Badescu spent many years doing research in his laboratory and testing his innovative products in his salon, and the result of his hard work can still be seen today. Our botanically-based skin care line remains as Mario crafted it so many years ago, expertly designed to keep your skin luscious and beautiful. We pride ourselves in still offering the same personal, customized skin care treatments that were Mario’s patent offerings.

Our insistence upon holding true to Mario Badescu’s vision is the reason why celebrities around the world still love our products and our facials, and why hundreds of other men and women who appreciate how important healthy skin can be still look to Mario Badescu for their skin care needs.

Likewise, we have maintained Mario’s dedication to offering our skin care products at exceptional prices. We believe that everybody deserves good skin care, and have crafted our prices accordingly. Using simple, no-frills packaging is part of the reason we are able to do this. While other companies are concerned with fancy, shiny wrappers and bottles, the packaging of our products is not as important as the products inside them. This allows us to focus on providing a quality product at an affordable price.

And so we offer our mission, the same vision that Mario Badescu had when he opened his salon over 40 years ago:

To brighten up the world with our time-tested skin care products and treatments, in order to provide customers with the beautiful and healthy skin every human being is entitled to.

The Good…

This cleanser has a refreshing scent, and is gentle enough for everyday use, and is effective at removing makeup.  After a week of using this product, my skin is unbelievably soft and radiant. Even though it has two types of naturally occurring Alpha Hydroxy Acids, it does not cause the redness, dryness, or irritation that typically accompany the use of AHAs.  This product will best be used for someone with dry or combination skin for it balances the dry and oily areas nicely.

The Bad…

I seriously cannot think of one bad thing about this product, however, it took me a while to get used to the fact that this cleanser does not lather.  I am used to soapy cleansers so adjusting to a gel cleanser without suds took some mind work.  One warning with this cleanser is that because it contains fruit extracts, it may not be safe to use on someone with any type of fruit allergies.

The Verdict ★★★★☆

This product will definitely become one of my staples as I can see myself re-purchasing it well into the future.  It is gentle, effective, and affordable.  What else can I ask for?
