I recently had the pleasure of attending a friend’s birthday bash at the famous Mark’s America Cuisine located in Houston, TX. I love fine food, and even more, enjoying it in the company of great people.
From the outside Mark’s appears mysterious and uneventful, but this quaint little restaurant is nestled inside of a 1920s renovated church and dons golden vaulted ceilings, and one of a kind stained glass windows.

To say that the food and desert were delicious would be an understatement, and a great injustice to the hardworking chef and staff. I have never in my life had food that was worth its weight in gold. I enjoyed the lobster bisque, grilled Panama shrimp with a sprinkling of jumbo lump crabmeat atop a Carolina shrimp and grit cake, with chili like sauce, roasted green chile, and cilantro coulis.

My sweetie sampled black walnut crusted Colorado Lamb, potatoes, thyme roasted autumn squash and zucchini, drizzled with a basal madeira sauce.

The evening was drawn to a perfect conclusion when my sweetie was brave enough to order the “$20 Milkshake.” Yes you heard me right! A milkshake created with $20 worth of smooth, creamy goodness. Yet get this…this desert is actually listed on the menu as the “$20 Milkshake.”

Living the life of That IT Girl is sometimes demanding…I mean, who else is going to experience new things and live to write about them?
Until next time It Girls…Yours truly,
