Don’t sweat the small stuff…
.

It is very important to live life happily and passionately however many of us get so caught up in things that don’t matter that true blessings just pass us by. Oftentimes we make a huge deal out of very minute things thus creating unneeded duress in our surroundings. A stressed mind is easily bothered, agitated, and easily broken down therefore when you sweat the small stuff, you rob your life of the joy you deserve.
This sends me back to a time when I was a very young girl, and very concerned about what others thought of me. I remember one day in class, a fairly popular student who’s acceptance I truly desired told me she that for whatever reason, she did not want me as her friend. This revelation sent my little world crashing to the ground and I went home in tears. I hyperventilated the whole way home as I recounted the conversation to my father who remained completely silent. At the end of my story, my father simply stated, “There are 6 billion people in this world…don’t let one person not liking you rule your life.” His perspective taught me that my classmate not liking me is nothing to worry about when I have the whole world in front of me.
The next time you find yourself getting worked up over a minor imperfection remember this… constant stress and worry do not keep bad things from happening, it just keeps you from enjoying the good.
How do you keep from sweating the small stuff? Leave a comment and lets discuss.

I use to be like this when I was younger, always worrying and stressing myself out about what and how people felt about me, the older I got and the more responsibilites i had and realized that if you aren’t beneficial to me and my life or help me in any way then you serve no purpose in my life much less me losing sleep over!!
You bring up a really good point that can apply to so many areas in life. Thank you, Maisha
