Play! by Sephora Subscription Box Review + Photos

Play! by Sephora January 2016 Box

I seriously cannot remember a world without subscription beauty boxes.  The idea of paying nominal monthly fees to try highly curated luxury sized samples is genius and it looks like Sephora has hopped onto the trend with Play! by Sephora Subscription Box.

Making its debut in September 2015, Play! by Sephora features 6 deluxe samples, a PLAY! BOOK full of beauty tips and tricks, and a PLAY! PASS to redeem for a one-on-one in-store learning session with a beauty expert all for only $10 a month.

Each box presents a different theme with the January 2016 box being inspired by achieving expert level hair, makeup and skin care results at home.  Lets take a look at what the Play! by Sephora “No Appointment Necessary” box has to offer.

Play! by Sephora- Living Proof Prime Style Extender Spray

Living Proof Prime Style Extender Spray | $12.00 – $20.00

This innovative hair primer extends your style past its normal shelf life.  Formulated specifically for thin hair, this primer promises to form a weightless shield around hair perfecting and smoothing strands keeping hair detangled and frizz free.

Play! by Sephora- Sephora Honey Eye Mask

Sephora Collection Honey Eye Mask | $5.00

Each Sephora Collection Eye Mask comes infused with active ingredients and botanicals to nourish the ultra sensitive under-eye area.  The Honey Eye Mask contains natural honey extract and Aloe Vera both perfect for soothing and smoothing fine lines.

Play! by Sephora- Dr. Brandt Needle No More

Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More | $86.00

This wrinkle relaxing cream improves the look of expression lines with a powerful Tri-blend wrinkle smoother.  Studies show a 96% improvement in forehead, under-eye and smile line creases with only 4 weeks of use.

Play! by Sephora- Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight | $22.00

You can NEVER have too many highlighters and the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight will be right at home in my collection.  The oil-free cream formula will offer a long wear light reflecting spotlight to the cheeks, chin, brow bone and bridge of nose.

Play! by Sephora- Tocca Beauty Isabel

Tocca Beauty Isabel | $68

I love perfume samples because I get to match a fragrance with my body chemistry before investing in a full size.  The Tocca Beauty Isabel is a chic multi-note fragrance made to turn heads.  It boast hints of some of my favorite scents like Spanish rose, amber and vanilla.

Play! by Sephora- Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel | $16.00 – $148.00

I am still on a quest of ridding myself of stubborn hyperpigmentation.  The Dr. Dennis Gross Universal Daily Peel may do the trick with its combination of potent and effective alpha and beta hydroxy acids.  Safe enough for daily use, this peel will keep skin balanced, nourished and refreshed.

As of right now, Sephora is slowly rolling out the Play! Box in waves and will be making a full launch later this month but you can add yourself to the waiting list here.  The biggest question that beauty addicts alike have been asking is “Is this beauty box worth ten bucks?” especially for those who can already use their VIB and VIB Rouge points for super-sized samples and my answer is a resounding YES!  I know we all spend a lot of money already at Sephora but for those who like to “try before you buy” will find the Play! Box useful time and money saver.
