It feels like I was just celebrating the new year and here we are in May already. April was a very productive month and I am happy to be back in the world of beauty and blogging. With us being so close to the middle of the year I really feel the need to exercise more accountability with my goals and personal growth.
I have recently stumbled up a series of Podcast from Myleik Teele, founder of curlBOX, entrepreneurial mentor and branding expert behing MyTaughtMe.com. Her straight forward approach to accomplishing your business objectives speak directly to my desire to one day be my own boss. In the spirit of her “Stop Making Excuses” podcast, in May, I plan to:
- Read at least 2 non-fiction books. Reading is the number one way to not only increase your vocabulary thus improving your writing skills, but it also improves your focus and your ability to speak intelligently on certain subjects.
- Start taking yoga classes. Being a nurse full time is rewarding but emotionally taxing. Yoga is a great way to increase circulation and flexibility and decrease tension.
- Clean up my diet. I plan to cut my sugar intake down to almost nothing and incorporate more veggies and lean proteins into my daily meals and snacks.
- Focus on more quality clothing pieces. I have not outgrown Forever 21, I am just choosing to add more pieces to my closet that are not so disposable. I am going to make it a point to hit sample sales, trunk shows, and sale racks at some of my favorite retailers like Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
