Dreams of Becoming My Own #Girlboss

When I find myself marveled by different people, companies, and bloggers, especially those in the beauty and fashion world, I tend to research the heck out of them and learn everything I can about how they became who they are today.   I draw inspiration from those who are where I eventually want to be so finally getting my hands on a copy of #Girlboss, the self told story of Sophia Amoruso, the owner of Nastygal.com, I started to truly envision my dream job.

GirlBoss Sophia Amoruso .

For me, starting That IT Girl, was (and still is) about starting a movement.  It was (is) about encouraging women to be their best feminine selves and in my constant brainstorming on how to make That IT Girl bigger, better, and more resourceful for my readers, I have discovered other areas that I eventually want to excel in.

Each and every one of us have dreams of grandeur, dreams of turning our true passions into a living, and parts of those dreams for me were accomplished when I became a Registered Nurse.      Now, almost 10 years after passing my state boards, and after taking notes from Sophia, my dreams of becoming my own #Girlboss are more important then ever.

What are you doing to make your #Girlboss dreams come true? Leave a comment and lets discuss.

  • Hey Maisha,

I’m new here and I’m already liking what I see on your blog!

What am I doing to becoming my own #GirlBoss? Trying to share everything I know about being a single mom trying to find love/companionship while keeping herself together and doing what she needs to for herself. That means creating new content for my blog (https://deservemore.net), creating workshops and webinars to help women become their happiest selves and guide single mamas through online dating, and write fiction and non-fiction for informational and entertaining purposes.

  • I too have dreams of being my own #girlboss. Sophia and others like her inspire me everyday that it can be done. My dreams have changed since starting my career 9 years ago, and the shift in my thinking has me excited for the possibilities, and the work…

  • I can totally relate to this post. I have bigger dreams than when I started my career almost 10 years ago. I dream of being my own #girlboss.

I am really inspired by women like Sophia who stepped outside of the norm, followed their passion, and became successful.

Writing a book on my own #girlboss journey is a dream of mine as well.
