IT Girl Inspiration: International Beauty Edition

It is that time of year again!  The Miss Universe Pageant is right around the corner and one of my favorite thing to do is to pick  my favorite contestants out of the lineup.  My picks are usually not based on any solid criteria.  I just choose the ladies that I found to be the most beautiful.

These are the 12 ladies that I found to be absolutely gorgeous and will be rooting for them during the competition scheduled for September 12th.

IT Girl Inspiration: Haute Headscarves

For hundreds of years African women have been adorning their heads with colorful fabric crowns that are used to identify tribes and social status, express spirituality, and frame the face.  Known as a Gele in Yoruba culture, these scarves have remained a timeless sign of beauty and regality.

I am of Nigerian decent and am already familiar with the bold colors and uniqueness of a finely hand-crafted headscarf so I am extra excited to see this make an appearance in mainstream fashion.

IT Girl Inspiration: Tea and Pearls are a Girl’s Best Friend

One of my favorite things to do is sip on a piping hot cup of herbal tea while plotting on how I am going to invest in Chanel or Tiffany pearls.  I find these photos highly inspirational to how I choose to live and style my life and will use them to satisfy my craving for classic nostalgia until then.
