How many of us have pictured ourselves as savvy businesswomen owning our own online store where items sell out in lightening speed? How man of us have a name picked out, social media accounts created yet have no clue how to stock or market this said shop?
You entrepreneurial dreams of becoming an e-boutique owner have now become easier to achieve thanks to Jacque Amadi, the stylishly quirky 20-something creator of Jacque of All Trades, Virtual Social Media Marketing Consultant, and mastermind behind the Build-A-Boutique e-course.
MEET JACQUE AMADI…
During a recent chat I got to know Jacque and picked her brain about the business of fashion. As a Kansas native born to Nigerian parents and owner of one of the most inclusive guides to building your own online store, Jacque Amadi has been blogging since 16 and became an entrepreneur at the young age of 21. After graduating from the University of Kansas where she earned a bachelors in psychology with a minor in business, Jacque used her background to launch Shop Lioness, an indie-vintage e-boutique, and now teaches budding retail CEOs the ins and outs of fashion retail.
On finding her passion…“I’m a blog junkie, and I’ve had several blogs covering every topic you can imagine! Fashion, movies, music, I’ve written about it all..so I thought I’d combine all of my interests (fashion, psychology, small business, and online marketing) into one blog- Jacque of All Trades. When it comes to my course, Build-A -Boutique, I received a lot of questions during my time as an e-commerce entrepreneur and I just wanted to create an affordable resource for other young women who are interested in creating their own online shops!”
On her Build-A-Boutique e-course…”My Build-A-Boutique course is super interactive, with videos, worksheets, and even an exclusive Facebook group included. I just wanted something fun and cute, but still informative, rather than the usual boring cut and dry course. At the end of the day I really want to encourage women to chase their dreams! It’s easy for us to take a back seat when it comes to business, but I want to empower other women to give it a try. Hopefully my course is that extra push people need to jump into selling online!”
On being a BOSS…“I love love love owning my own business, and making money on my own terms. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to use your God-given talents and help others while also sustaining yourself.”
On beauty…“Oh you’re talking to the Queen of Girly! I hate wearing pants. I wear skirts as often as I can get away with it! I also love make up, and being able to match my make up to my mood and my ever-changing hair.”
On taking risks…“Keep a journal. Write all of your goals down and break them up into tiny steps that are easy to achieve. Don’t listen to anyone who doubts you. There’s nothing you can’t do! If you’ve never failed, then you’ve never tried!
