“Why be any girl when you can be That IT Girl?”–Maisha

Meet Maisha!

.

.

Hey there IT Girls and welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web!  My name is Maisha, and I am the creator and writer for www.That IT Girl.com.  I am a native of Midwestern, USA with a bachelors degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzzzzzzzou-Raaaaaaah).  After graduating from college I relocated to Texas where I currently work in a Genitourinary Medical Oncology clinic.

While I find my career very rewarding and stimulating, I have always had a passion for  beauty, fashion, entertaining, cooking, traveling, living a charmed life and issues regarding personal growth thus giving me the motivation and fuel to create That IT Girl.

In no way do I have all of the answers, nor am I a formally trained expert. I simply made the decision to create That IT Girl to take a fun, and whimsical approach to teaching other women, as well as myself, the art of cultivating the essence of being the “fairer sex.”

My vision for That IT Girl is to be a hybrid one-stop resource of fashion and beauty advice, interviews, lifestyle features, and reviews.  I want to not only uplift all women and help create a sense of confidence, independence and passion for life but challenge them to go against the grain and dare to embrace being a woman.

Questions I never get tired of answering…

Q:  What is an IT Girl?

A: To be an IT girl means to be strong, confident, and purposefully feminine; to be a great daughter, mother, wife, lover and friend; to be socially adaptable and cultured.  It means being dedicated to putting your best foot forward in everything you do.  I admire those that can balance family, friends, work, school, and a busy social schedule all while making it look effortless; those women that work tirelessly to develop a unique personal style, and maintain an impeccable appearance physically, emotionally and spiritually. We all love her because she has that je ne sais quoi..she has it…she is That IT Girl.

Q:  How tall are you?

A: I am 5’7 almost 5’8 without heels.  Most of the time I just claim 5’8.

Q:  Who shoots your photos/videos, and what type of camera do you use?

A: I typically set up and shoot my own photos and videos with lighting and all.  Ever so often, my sweetie will double as my photographer and he is pretty damn good at it.  I am currently using a Cannon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens and an EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens.
